Ipazia

Ipazia is a STEM-based project that, involving local VET providers aims to:

- Actively stimulate young people's creativity and involvement in the fight against the climate crisis.
- Be an input for VET providers to find innovative solutions to overcome the skills mismatch between the education sector and the local labour market.
- Enhance the attractiveness of VET providers, especially for girls, using a hands-on approach to show them how they can be leaders of long-lasting change.

Networking

The first part of the project will be dedicated to preparatory activities, during which partner organizations will:

- Search and select VET providers with strong STEM-oriented courses (ArteTeka and ASN).
- Conduct an evaluation of STEM programs among VET providers in their respective countries to identify common learning objectives (Training Academy).
- Analyze participants' profiles and design an inclusive delivery plan considering cultural, linguistic, and physical/mental diversity.
- Engage in mutual virtual training to share best practices: ASN on global environmental issues, ArteTeka on art-based activities for inclusive participation, and Training Academy on addressing the VET provision gap.

These activities lay the foundation for effective project implementation.

Challenging pollution.

This activity will be devided in different phases:

- In the "Needs Analysis" phase, participants collaborate with teachers and ASN to analyze local environmental conditions, identifying core economic sectors, key stakeholders, and main causes of pollution.
- The subsequent "Survey" phase involves participants creating and conducting a digital survey among local businesses. The survey aims to uncover challenges these businesses face in reducing their environmental footprint. Collaboration with IT and Computer Science teachers facilitates this digital activity.
- "Analysis" entails consolidating survey results to craft a digital booklet. This booklet presents an analysis of local environmental challenges and businesses' responses. A virtual meeting convenes steering groups from partner countries to discuss and share results.
- "Problem-Solving" sees each class selecting a challenge to tackle. Students collaborate with STEM teachers and peers to devise innovative solutions through laboratory activities. Solutions focus on reducing business footprints, ensuring economic sustainability, and transferability.
- "Output Creation and Mobility" has each group designing a digital output incorporating inclusive audio/visual content. This output showcases their solution to peers in other countries. During a three-day mobility event in Portugal, each group presents their output and insights.

- "Evaluation and Output Design" involves virtual discussions among organizations to reflect on implementation and devise the project's final output. A forward-moving strategy is also outlined. This comprehensive approach empowers participants to creatively address environmental challenges while fostering cross-cultural exchange.

- Environmental Awareness and Skill Development: Ipazia seeks to foster environmental awareness among young individuals, concurrently empowering them with the skills to drive meaningful global change. By educating and inspiring youth, the initiative aims to create a generation actively involved in addressing environmental issues.
- Bridging Formal Education and the Labor Market: Recognizing the need for practical skills and experience, Ipazia bridges the gap between formal education and the labor market. Through engaging activities, the initiative provides students with hands-on opportunities that align with real-world challenges, enhancing their readiness for future employment.
- Supporting Inclusive Education: Ipazia extends its support to the formal education sector by developing inclusive activities. These activities not only offer valuable learning experiences but also cater to diverse student backgrounds and abilities. By fostering inclusivity, Ipazia contributes to a more equitable and enriching education environment.
- Global Collaboration for Environmental Solutions: Addressing environmental challenges requires collective efforts on a global scale. Ipazia emphasizes the importance of collaborative action across countries to combat climate change effectively. By promoting joint initiatives, the initiative underscores the shared responsibility and impact of international cooperation in tackling environmental issues.

In summary, Ipazia's multifaceted objectives encompass raising environmental awareness, equipping youth with practical skills, strengthening the connection between education and the job market, fostering inclusivity in education, and advocating for collaborative solutions to global environmental challenges.
